If you have been following my recent posts you will know that as well as travelling I am continuing to work via the internet as I go. For a while now I have been working on a project which is about just that ā working while on the move. Specifically it is about finding places to work remotely from anywhere in the world. I call it Hot Officing.

As a web developer I can only work if I have a reliable internet connection. There are some food and drink chains that guarantee wi-fi to their customers, but I have always liked to search out nicer, more interesting places like cafes to hunker down with a coffee and bash out some code.
It turns out I am not alone and there is a huge community of ādigital nomadsā out there, who travel the world and work online as they go to fund their adventures. It is my aim that Hot Officing will assist this community in finding nice places to work nearby. Hot Offices are public locations (cafe’s, libraries and even parks) all over the world, usually with wi-fi access, that are recommended by other travellers as good places to get some work done.
In order for the site to be useful it needs to list lots of Hot Offices, so I am trying to get the ball rolling. If you have a favourite work spot away from the house and office like a cafe or library I would really appreciate it if you could take a couple of minutes to add it to the site: www.hotofficing.com or even add a review of a Hot Office that has already been added. Also if you know anyone that might find this useful then let them know about it!
Any feedback you have about the idea or the site is also greatly appreciated. I have lots of ideas and improvements I would like to build in but for now I want to test the idea. I has taken a lot of work just to get it to this stage.
Thanks in advance for any contributions, I look forward to seeing what happens.
Joe
