Good steady day. Some nice views, not many people till Woss. Met some hikers and had a nice chat. Weird getting into Woss, a highway stop is very different from being in the bush.

I went to an odd hotel there for beer and a burger, a short resupply and then back out on the trail.

I found a completely untouched old growth forest by a river. Stepping into it from the dusty logging road felt like steping through a curtain in time. Walking amoungst huge trees on a clear forest floor felt very primal... what we were designed for!

Good ride on FSR (Forestry Service Road) to Lang Bay. Loads of mountain bike trails around Duck Lake which were very well maintained.

Bit of highway in to Saltery Bay. Chilled and waited for the ferry, then chilled on the ferry too.

Beer and burger in Duke Point. Had the place to myself as ferry traffic cleared out. Pretty tough start to Lower Sunshine Coast Trail.

Tough going on the Lower SunShine Coast Trail, whoever designed it likes it rough! Started taking gravel alternates pretty quickly. I don't enjoy biking hiking trails!

Some nice spots, especially leaving Sechelt.

Good stops at McDonalds. I like the tough screen ordering 🙂

Bit of a grind around Mount Elphinstone, but nice to be on logging roads after dicthing the Lower Sunshine Coast Trail. Way too much singletrack. Priorotising that makes for a sucky ride.

I feel like I'm getting the feeling of how to read the terrain and navigate it.

Black Creek Main nice and quiet track to Oyster River. Nice geology and a pretty decent ascent up Oyster River Main into the big mountains. Camping with good views of Regan, Mitchell and Albert Edward. Made a little fire using Old Mans Beard as tinder. The stars are coming out 🙂
